Scripture of The Day

As Iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. (Proverbs 27:17)

My precious husband and I were as different as night and day.  We wanted the same things and we were headed in the same direction, we just took different paths to get there!  I can’t tell you the times he pointed out places in my life that needed correction.  I did the same thing to him.  After we got passed the hurt and the wounded ego, we realized that God was working on both of us.  As we served God together for more than 35 years we finally came to know that we were each other’s heavenly sandpaper!

You see, no one is alone.  In order to make yourself better, there is a mutual benefit making others better through mentorship, follower-ship, and leading. The wisdom of Proverbs is still very powerful today.

As long as you genuinely care for others, that you praise in public and correct in private, engage in regular honest conversations, discover and develop people’s strengths and passions, share the credit, and build genuine relationships you will be sharp and you will sharpen others.  Allow God to grow you and use you in the lives of others.
