Scripture of The Day
And He Said to them, ” Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human race].” Mark 16:15 AMP
We all have a part to play in making sure the job of spreading the good news of the Gospel gets done. If we will stay in the running lane that God called us to, we can fulfill our purpose. But know this, Satan wants to knock you off track.
II Corinthians 4:4 says that Satan is the God of this world and he is master of distraction, and if he can distract you from the purpose God called you to, he will do it.
Acts 22:15 in the Message Bible says, “You are to be a key witness to everyone you meet of what you’ve seen and heard. So what are you waiting for?”
I John 2:15-16 says, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.“
The senses are what Satan uses to distract us! The lust of the flesh includes tasting, touching, smelling, and hearing. The lust of the eyes is seeing. The pride of life is thinking you are special because of who you are, what you have, what you know, or what you look like. Satan uses these three things to entice us to sin. Scripture shows this process at work in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve.
Genesis 3:6 says, “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food (lust of the flesh); that it was pleasant to the eyes (lust of the eyes); and a tree desirable to make one wise, (pride of life)….”
Keep your eyes on Jesus who is the Word, unless Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices. (II Corinthians 2:11)
Let’s keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and take the Good News to every one that the Lord puts in front of us!
