Scripture of The Day 3/21/2022
The steps of a good man (or woman) are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. (Psalm 37:23)
I love our scripture for the day. In this last year it has been important to me to know that I am walking where God wants me to walk. There are so many decisions I have to make. God has given directions as to the way His people should walk and live in this world. God’s Word is our road map for the Christian life.
The New International version of Psalm 37:23 says, “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him.” In the Passion version of Psalm 37:23 it says, “The steps of the God-Pursuing ones follow firmly in the footsteps of the Lord, and God delights in every step they take to follow Him.”
Psalm 1:1-2 says, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord.”
You see, all we have to do is delight ourselves with God, His Word, and His way of doing things and our steps will be made firm, steady, and sure and God will be delighted is us as we follow Him.
You might say, ” No way is it that simple!” Well, yes and no. It is that simple, but many of our steps are by faith. God does not show us everything. There is a book out there and the title is “Just Enough Light For The Step I Am On.” There is trust involved. God does not always show you the whole picture. As a matter of fact, He never shows you the whole picture.
Believe that God loves you, has a plan for you, and His sweet Holy Spirit will lead and guide you. Stay in His Word, Keep your heart and motives lined up with the Word and you will make good decisions and your steps will be sure.
