Scripture of The Day

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. (I Peter 5:7:)
I think I have written on this subject several times, but I get so many calls about worry and anxiety.  It seems to be one of the tactics of the enemy that is very prevalent in this hour.  It cripples people, stops them in their tracts! Do I have moments when I get worried or greatly concerned about things?  Of course I do, especially at my age, there are a lot of things I could worry about.  But it would change a thing and I don’t dwell on those thoughts. Philippians 4:6 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”  I choose to walk in that scripture.  I cast down those thought that try to put me in bondage!

Why does God want us to cast all our cares, anxieties, worries, and concerns on Him? Because He cares for us affectionately and cares about us watchfully. He’s like a father to his children; the father loves his children and wants them to know that everything is taken care of because he’s watching over them.

As you come to God in prayer, leave your cares, anxieties, worries, and concerns at that place of prayer and don’t take them back. That is faith and trust. Just keep trusting God and seeking first His Kingdom, and He’ll take care of every care. This doesn’t mean that everything will be a bed of roses. It’s like I heard one preacher say, “I have passed up some wonderful opportunities to worry.”  Just leave it at the feet of Jesus and move on.  He’s got you!
