Scripture of The Day
We can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper: I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?” ( Hebrews 13:6) NRSV
I did a teaching on Hope a while back and one of the definitions was confident expectation. There are not too many things I feel I can put confidence in these days, except God and His Word and certain friends I really trust. At this stage in my life I am so thankful that I can put my confidence in the fact that the Lord is always with me and He is a present help in time of need. Being a widow has not been easy. However, I know that I know God is with me. When I hear the devil tell me how alone I am, I remind of God’s Word that He is always with me! The devil is a liar!!
No matter the trails that we walk through or the troubles that arise, we are never alone. The presence of God is our portion, and there is no scarcity in Him. No matter how dark it gets and even when we cannot see, God is with us. He is the light that reveals where to go. He is the voice that instructs us. Isaiah 30:21 says that God will speak to us and say,. . “This is the way, walk ye in it. . .” He is the love that makes and keeps us whole.
Is there any place in your life where you lack confidence in God’s ability to help you? Are there fears that drown out the truth of God’s victory? I pray strength for you today as you spend time in the presence of God. Right here, right now, He is with you. He will help you. May your heart know the confidence of His power today.
