Scripture of The Day 6/27/2022
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. (Proverbs 4:23-265
Now that many people are headed to the beach or the swimming pools, you will usually see life guards perched up high watching over those in the water. As a kid I grew up swimming in pools and going to beaches that had life guards. I always felt very safe knowing someone was watching over us as we swam.
Have you ever thought of God as your life guard? The one who knows you best, the one who loves you, the one who has a plan for your life, and the one who wants only the best for you. I love Psalm 139:5, “You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.” NLT Don’t you know, like the life guard, God does not want you to get caught in the things that can hurt you? Life guards are trained to know the conditions of the ocean. They know when the rip currents are the strongest. They put up warning flags to warn you when the water is not safe. God does the same thing, but He uses His Word as the warning flags to help you navigate the waters of life.
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:10)
God has a plan and you have a purpose. He does not want you caught up in the rip currents of this world. My word to you today is to pay attention to the life guard. He is paying attention to you, He wants to finish what He’s started in you. He is your strong tower. Allow Him to lead and guide you and protect you as you walk out His word.
