Scripture of The Day

The purposes of a man’s heart are deep waters, but a man of understanding draws them out.    (Proverbs 20:5)

Dr. Myles Munroe, a Pastor, world-renowned speaker, and author had a big impact on my life. He often told the story about asking an audience where they thought the richest place in the world would be.  He got several answers.  One was the emerald mines in Brazil, another was Fort Knox.  But Dr. Munroe would always stun audiences with his answer, the graveyard.   That is because there were songs never sung, businesses never started, books never written, and so on. He would always encourage people to die empty.  He wanted to cause people to seek their purpose.

Purpose means- the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.  According to the Bible, the purpose of human life is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. The Bible says, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God”.

Purpose is the master of motivation and the mother of commitment. We all have a basic need for significance and a sense of purpose.  Where there is no purpose people find themselves confused, frustrated, and discouraged.

Your existence is evidence that this generation needs something that your life contains.  I encourage you today to seek God for your purpose.  Believe in yourself.  Identify your natural talents and abilities.  Develop a vision. Develop good habits.  Happy and successful people choose good habits.  Show gratitude.  Give to others and take responsibility.

Keep your head and your heart going in the right direction and you will not have to worry about your feet.  My friend, you were created with purpose and great potential.  Begin to draw it out!
