Scripture Of The Day

“The LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 2:6

I desire the wisdom. I need the wisdom of God every day. To listen for wisdom, I have learned that I must slow down—set aside my assumptions, hurry, and noise. God speaks through Scripture, still small impressions, wise counsel, and the gentle nudge of the Holy Spirit. When we approach decisions with humility and a teachable heart, God’s knowledge reshapes our priorities, refines our motives, and lights the path we could not see on our own.

Today, choose one specific place to practice listening: a verse of Scripture, five minutes of silent prayer, or asking a trusted believer for counsel and then really receiving it. Note what God reveals and one concrete step you can take in response. Wisdom is a gift that arrives when we quiet ourselves and lean into God’s voice.

An Atlanta Ga native, Cheryl was married for 53 years to Ed Henderson. They have three sons and 8 grandchildren, and one great gran.

In January of 2021, Ed went home to be with the Lord after a brave fight with colon cancer.
