No More Excuses

Scripture Of The Day

And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ {right up to the time if His return}, developing {that good work} and perfection and bringing it to full completion in you.  Philippians 1:6

By Cheryl Henderson

I have a dear friend who loves to start things. She runs out of the gate full speed ahead. However, after a while, when things get hard or she runs into problems, she gives up. When I ask her how things are going, she begins with one excuse after another of why she can't do what she set out to do.

I am so glad for our scripture today. When God starts something in us, He does not stop until we go there, or He comes here! My children sang a song when they were little, and the words were, "He's still working on me!" You have to know that God has a great plan for you and He is working things out for your good.

A lot of people never taste the joy of accomplishing a dream or a goal. They do not push past the roadblocks and challenges. They don't just come out and say I'm quitting, they began to make excuses for why things did not work out. They blame it on someone or something else.

Joyce Meyer says we all have an "excuse bag". It is an invisible accessory we carry around with us all the time. When things get to be too much or too hard, we pull out one of the excuses from our bag. And it goes like this:

"That's just too hard."

"I don't have enough time."

"I have too many personal problems and too much going on in my life right now."

"I don't have anyone to help me."

Throw away your "excuse bag"! Stop looking at all your weaknesses. Don't be limited by your excuses. Trade them in for Words of life and confidence. You can do all things that the Lord has called you to do. You don't need ability, you need availability to God and a "can-do-attitude."
