Scripture Of The Day

Love never fails.   (1 Corinthians 13:8)

By Cheryl Henderson

There was a popular song in 1993 by Tina Turner called “What’s Love Got To Do With It ?” It was definitely not meant to be a spiritual song but we are going to borrow the title of this song to ask ourselves the same thing about our relationship with God.

The Bible tells us that God is love and that love is the only thing that will never fail. The Bible also tells us that we should walk by faith, not by sight, and that faith works through love. Just those few things alone should tell us that this love thing is pretty important in our walk with God.

The following are just a few scriptures that paint a pretty good picture of the importance of love. We all need to constantly check our hearts to see if we are walking on the right path.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John3:16)

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Romans 5:5)

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. (1 John 4:7-8)

And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8)And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)

The answer to the question “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” It has everything to do with it when it!
