Be strong, confident, and of good courage, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land, which I swore to their fathers to give them.

I love this scripture! I have always been encouraged by the instructions God gave Joshua as he stepped into Moses’ place and accepted the responsibility of leading the children of Israel into the Promised Land. Joshua 1:1–8 is filled with promises, direction, and encouragement for a man who was stepping into a new and overwhelming assignment.
One day, as I was reading the book of Joshua in the Amplified Bible, verse 6 really stood out to me: “Be strong, confident and of good courage, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.” Joshua 1:6 AMPC
The words “you shall cause this people to inherit the land” suddenly took on a whole new meaning for me. I realized that when you and I follow God’s Word and walk in obedience to Him, we can help others inherit their “land” too. What might that land look like? It could be salvation, healing, deliverance, peace, comfort, restoration, freedom—or simply the hope to believe that God has not forgotten them.
I have always believed that our testimony is powerful. Your testimony is simply telling someone what Jesus has done in your life. When you share what God has brought you through, it gives someone else hope. They can begin to believe, “If God did it for them, He can do it for me!”
God told Joshua—not merely suggested, but commanded him—to be strong, confident, and courageous, because the Lord was with him wherever he went. That same God is with you today. So today, I speak this over you: Be strong. Be confident. Be courageous. Walk boldly in what God has called you to do. Your obedience may be the very thing God uses to help someone else step into their promised land. Walk in courage and move forward.
