“He…experienced…all the pain, all the testing.” — Hebrews 2:18 (TM)

Have you ever wondered, Does Jesus really understand what I’m going through? The answer is yes. He does.
Are you financially strapped? Jesus knows what it feels like to have very little. He said He had no place to lay His head. Do you feel taken advantage of? Jesus knows that feeling, too. He experienced injustice and even paid taxes to a foreign emperor.
Maybe you’re carrying the weight of leadership. Jesus understands. He led a group of people who were very different from one another—a tax collector who worked for Rome and a zealot who hated the Romans. Leadership isn’t always easy!
Perhaps you’re experiencing family tension. Jesus understands that, too. At one point, His own family thought He was out of His mind and tried to take Him home.
Have you ever been falsely accused or misunderstood? Jesus knows exactly what that feels like. People looked for false accusations against Him so they could put Him to death. Jesus has been there.
He experienced rejection, betrayal, loneliness, disappointment, physical pain, and emotional anguish. He wept. He was misunderstood. He was exhausted. He knew what it was like to be tempted, tested, and overwhelmed by sorrow.
But Jesus didn’t endure all of this simply so He could say, “I understand.” He endured it so that He could help us when we are hurting.
Hebrews 2:18 says, “Because he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested.” (NLT)
What a comforting thought! Whatever you are facing today, you are not facing it alone. Jesus knows how you feel. He understands your pain, He sees your struggle, and He is able to help you. You can run to Him today. He has been there—and He will be there for you.
