Enough Prayer To Raise The Dead

Scripture Of The Day
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6
By Cheryl Henderson
First, I want to share where I have been for the past month. On April 1, 2026, I underwent open-heart surgery. By the grace of God, I am healing well and have just recently returned to the office. I have truly missed you all very much.
Today’s scripture is one I am not only reading, but deeply experiencing. Through this journey, I have come to know in an even greater way how much God loves His children and how powerfully prayer can move mountains.
At the end of March, I experienced a couple of episodes of chest pain that radiated into my jaw. The first time, I ignored it because it lasted only a few seconds and quickly went away. Afterward, I felt perfectly fine, so I packed my bags and traveled with my church to Kentucky to visit the Ark Encounter. It was an incredible trip, but while I was there, I experienced a second episode. I told no one, but I made up my mind that once I returned home, I would see a doctor.
When I got home, the pain began happening more frequently, so I drove myself to the hospital. Looking back, I realize those were not the wisest decisions, and so many things could have gone wrong. But God was watching over me every step of the way.
Once at the hospital, I was shocked to learn that I was having an active heart attack. I never imagined I had any heart issues. Yet in the middle of the tests, the hospital stay, and eventually the surgery, God continually reminded me that He was with me. He gave me tremendous grace throughout the entire journey.
While visiting the Ark, seeing the magnitude of what God instructed Noah to build—and realizing that only eight people were used in such a miraculous undertaking—greatly strengthened my faith. It reminded me that nothing is impossible with God. I truly believe the Lord was with me on that trip and allowed me to witness His handiwork at just the right time.
While I was in the hospital, a friend called and said, “I know that between your church family and your friends, there has already been enough prayer to raise the dead, but I’m going to pray for you anyway.” And she did.
I share this testimony to encourage you: never give up. Stay in prayer and trust the Lord to breathe life back into the things that seem dead in your life—dead dreams, dead visions, forgotten promises, and anything else that feels like it has withered on the vine. Jesus is ever interceding for you, and there is enough prayer to raise the dead.
