“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” — Romans 15:13 NLT

I love that this Scripture reminds us that God is the source of hope. Our hope does not have to depend on what is happening around us. Even when circumstances are difficult, or the future seems uncertain, we can trust that God is still working.

Notice that Paul says God will fill us with joy and peace because we trust in Him. Peace comes when we stop trying to figure everything out and place our confidence in the One who already knows the end from the beginning.

But God doesn’t just want us to have enough hope to get through the day. He wants us to overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. When we are filled with His hope, it becomes something we can share with the people around us.

Today, put your trust in God again. Let His joy fill you, let His peace guard you, and let His hope overflow from your life. Your circumstances may change, but the God who is your source of hope never does.
