A pioneer is someone who goes first into unfamiliar territory, opening a path and preparing the way for others to follow.
The Greek word archegos means pioneer, author, founder, originator, leader, or one who goes first. This word is used four times in the New Testament to describe Jesus:
Hebrews 2:10 — He is the author of our salvation.
Hebrews 12:2 — He is the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.
Acts 3:15 — He is the author of life.
Acts 5:31 — He is our leader and Savior.
When Jesus came, everything changed. He brought a new way to know God and walk with Him. He went first, then taught twelve men to follow His example and carry the message forward.
You are released to pioneer too. As you follow Jesus, He may lead you into unfamiliar territory. You may not know exactly where you are going, but you can know Who is leading you.
Your obedience today may be the path someone else needs to find Jesus tomorrow.
Go where He leads. Pioneer the way. Others are watching and following.
