It is amazing to me how differently people think of God. Some people think that He is a mean task master and is ready to hit us over the head with a bat every time we mess up. Some people think He is a murderer who takes the lives of their loved ones. Others think that God represents just a list of rules and regulations.
How we perceive God is very important in determining how much we love God, how strong our faith is, and what we can ask and expect from God.
The truth about the nature of God is in His Word. John 4:24 declares that God is love. Judges 6:24 says that God is peace. God is Holy. 1 Samuel 2:2
Psalm 33:5 The earth is full of His unfailing Love.
Deuteronomy 31:8: He never leaves us.
Psalm 32:8: He is our teacher and counselor.
1 Peter 2:24: He is our healer.
When you read about Jesus, you come to know that He is the exact representation of the Father God. He is loving, powerful, the way maker, Awesome God, the healer, the Holy One, and I could go on and on. He is also righteous and will execute righteous judgment in its right time.
Please remember, we have an enemy, Satan. He is real and on planet Earth. Sickness, death, poverty, addictions, and everything else that is bad comes from him. John 10:10 says he comes to kill, steal, and destroy.
Don't blame God for the things the enemy does. Know the difference.
