Worry Will Kill Your Faith

Scripture Of The Day

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6

By Cheryl Henderson (Excerpts from Larry Ollison)

I have been asked several times if worry is a sin. Romans 14:23 says that anything that is not of faith is sin. Let me ask you, when you worry, are you in faith? Then the answer is no. We cannot be in worry and faith at the same time.

Worry is a type of fear. It is the opposite of faith. Just like the opposite of hot is cold, worry is the opposite of faith. Do we all worry? We probably all do; however, that is not what moves heaven. Worry does not bring miracles and the presence of God into our situation.

According to the Bible: We are saved through faith (Ephesians 2:8). The prayer of faith will heal the sick (James 5:15). Without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). If we ask without faith, we receive nothing (James 1:6-7). Anything not of faith is sin (Romans 14:23). Worry is a tool of Satan. He knows that if he can get you to worry, you will not be in faith. When you are not in faith, you will be ineffective as a Christian.

So, today I will tell you exactly what Jesus told us: Do not worry. No matter how bad things look, choose faith instead of worry. If we really believe God, then there is nothing to worry about anyway, right?

Remember, as Christians, we walk by faith and not by what we see. So, when things look bad, look through the eyes of faith, and worry will flee.
