Scripture of The Day
They Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.(Psalm 119:11)
Have you ever wondered why it is so important to memorize scripture? It’s not that you have to memorize the whole Bible, but the more of God’s Word that gets down into your spirit the stronger you are against the enemy. It keeps you out of sin because you know God’s ways of doing things. For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. ( Hebrews 4:12)
The word quick also means alive! It is God-Breathed, God wrote the book, and it is settled forever in Heaven. It won’t ever change.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Remember how Jesus replied to the devil in the wilderness when He was tempted? Jesus told the devil, “It is written…..” then He quoted scripture. That is how we are to fight. That is how we are to overcome fear, depression, anxiety and all the other junk the enemy tries to throw at us. The Word is how we keep ourselves in the joy of the Lord, which is our strength.
I encourage you today to get God’s Word on the inside of you and use it in everything you do!
