Scripture of The Day
For Unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)
Have you ever thought about the power of One? I was listening to a minister the other day and he began to talk about the power of one. I have never thought of power being in just one of anything. However, think of this…One young teenager who said yes to God. When the angel of the Lord came to Mary and told her what was about to happen to her, she said, “Let it be to me according to your word.” She was just one little girl and yet she carried in her womb the King of Kings. What about one young man who was to take a wife that was already pregnant. Yet, this one young man was obedient to the dream God gave him to go ahead and marry her.
What about one little town, Bethlehem, one little Inn with no room. One little stable for the night. One star that guided the Magi to the Christ child. What about the most important thing of all, one begotten Son. It seems there is power in just one. This one little baby changed the world forever!
I want to encourage you during this Christmas season to press into God’s Word. Spend time in God’s presence. Listen to praise and worship music. Find a good church and become involved in the lives of others. You may be just one, but you have power.
