Scripture of The Day
“And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.” Mark 4:35
I have head the story of Jesus and the disciples getting in the boat and going to the other side many times. I have heard it from several perspectives. Jesus told the disciples they were going to the other side, and the disciples got in the boat. A storm arose. Waves beat against the boat and filled it with water. Jesus was asleep. The disciples began to panic. Jesus rebuked the storm, and it became calm.
Why was Jesus going to take the disciples through the storm? He took them from the familiar and what they could see, to a place and experience with which they weren’t familiar. This was a teaching moment for them.
Change is hard and sometimes painful. But it is harder to stay stuck. He will not lead you to the other side unless it is good for His purpose, and for your destiny. You don’t go alone. He goes with you.
