Scripture of The Day

They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and
begged Jesus to touch him.  He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?”   He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”
Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. (Mark 8:22-25)

While getting dressed for the day this morning, I listened to a message that caused Hope to rise up on the inside of me.  I don’t think I have ever looked at this passage in Mark 8:22-25 the way I heard it preached today.

Do you believe that Jesus came to give you life and life more abundantly?  I do!  Does that mean that everything will be perfect for you?  Of course not!  We do not live in a perfect world.  We are in the world, but not of it.  However, I do believe that God wants you to live a victorious life, a happy life, a purposeful life, and a life that glorifies God.

When Jesus laid hands on the blind man and then asked him what he saw, the man said that things were blurry.  Then Jesus laid hands on him again and the man saw perfectly.  Now there are many ways you can tell this story and they are all good.  I loved what I heard this morning.  God does not want you to live a “blurry” or half way good life.  He does not want you to give up or settle for just, good enough.  He is the God of more than enough. He does want that abundant life for you. Jesus paid for that on the cross.  God does not want mediocrity for you or me.  When Jesus touched the blind man a second time, the man then had perfect vision.  Get ready, you have a second touch coming!

Keep your faith stirred up and press into all that God has for you.   Freedom from that addiction, completely out of debt, completely healed, new doors opened, and great favor on your life. It is time to come into overflow!  A second touch is coming for you!!
